In 1936, Joe Fisher Jr. was accused by Ella Peden, of attacking her in Meadowbrook Park. After a short deliberation by the jury, he was convicted. Fisher had been defended in court by attorney C.T. Rimbaugh, whose practice was mainly divorce cases.
Fisher went immediately to San Quentin prison, but his final sentencing came a year later, when he was given the maximum term of 50 years. He would die within months.
