Air Force One (1982) depicts nine presidents, from Franklin Roosevelt to Ronald Reagan, with their presidential aircraft. The canvases feature “nose-art” style plane decoration and make reference to events during each administration.
• MASSAS & SURVIVORS •
Great American Massas (2008) is an assemblage of canvases juxtaposing the twelve past presidents who owned slaves, with African American cultural figures who have risen to prominence against the odds.
